Like for many, 2024 was a hectic year. With that in mind, I spent the last few days of it out in nature in beautiful Taranaki. It was exactly what the doctor ordered!

Of course I had my trusty Nikon with me and captured some moments at the wonderful Rotokare Scenic Reserve, a predator-fenced sanctuary with gorgeous views across to Mount Taranaki and a short(ish) walk around the lake.
Fabulous birds everywhere!
A dusk walk at the York Rd Loop Track was also much appreciated, with plenty of insects and birds to hear, including wētā and many, many, spiders.
On the way back a quick glimpse behind to Mount Taranaki offered a photographic moment to not be ignored, with Venus very almost directly above its point.
Here's to 2025 and many more unforgettable photographic moments.
